However, I have always had a dream to have a gift that I could give to the world. Now, I realize, that gifts are always within us, we just have to call it forth. So, I made a request to the universe for a gift that kept on giving, made a difference, touched lives, inspired... something that was priceless. At first I thought I had asked for too much, and that maybe such a thing did not even exist…but then the answered prayer came... Scrapbook!!
I have scrapped since 2006. It may not seem that long, but it is when all your minutes of all your days revolve around it. Since I discovered this gift, I can be found in scrap and stamp classes, workshops, which I teach and take, art cruises, and in my “studio”. ..or out and about photographing…so I can go back and start the process all over again.
I have created over 40 books up to 2009. It takes countless days, hours and months to create one book. That gives you an idea that scrapbooking is on the top, middle and bottom of my list.
I have such an honor and joy to create each of these custom made one of a kind scrapbooks for different people. Each book is totally unique and exclusive, as it tells a totally distinct story of people and subjects. Through my words, my photographs and my layouts, these albums come to life and are the memory keepers for hundreds of people.
I so treasure and honor the opportunity to “peak” through the lives of such fantastic beings and embark on their journey along with them.
Their laughs, smiles, and tears as they go through every inch of their books will forever stay with me.
Some of these albums were gifts, some were custom made to order but somehow I always feel at the end the “ gift” was mine.
I strive to keep growing as an artist, photographer and teacher; and to live an inspired life in which I do my best, go the extra mile, not being afraid to try new things, live out of the box and put divine principles first.
I know in this way I can keep being the storyteller and memory keeper of so many with most excellence.
You know what it is said, ”if it is not on a scrapbooking page…it really did not happen”.
These days I call the Sunshine State home, where I live with my long life partner and best friend, to whom I am humbled to share this adventure called life with.
He has been the rock behind all my creative process. He not only “blindly” believed in me, is so proud of me, but also has had all the patience with my crazy schedule in the process of teaching, and creating the scrapbooks, and with tons of scrapbooking supplies that has taken over our space.
